I knew it was a small school, but...

This cracks me up! It started at registration, when people I'm quite certain I've never met not only knew my name but the street we live on. Today, the very nice gentleman (whose name I know only because I read his ID tag) who held up the carpool line for me yesterday greeted me by name and said, "Luke's teacher told me that he told the class it's going to rain all day today." My poor kids....they're not going to be able to get away with anything!

When you live on an Island and know the folks in the houses next to the bridge, your kids can't go anywhere without your knowledge. With all the fervor their young bodies could muster they would promise not to leave the Island. At that age they could never quite figure out how I learned so quickly that they were on the mainland.

Then, when one grows to be 6'4" and has bright red hair, he can never be mistaken for any other child in the neighborhood. Poor youngster didn't have much opportunity go get away with anything....until he reached his teenage years and ventured further away from home. Yikes.

You'll forever be known as Someone's Mom!
